VERA

Child Safety Standards

Last updated: August 2, 2026

VERA is a verified dating platform exclusively for adults aged 28 and older. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page outlines our safety standards, prevention practices, and reporting procedures in compliance with Google Play's child safety policy and applicable laws.

Age Restriction and Verification

  • Adults only: VERA is restricted to individuals aged 28 and older. No one under 18 is permitted to create an account or access the platform under any circumstances.
  • Identity verification: Every member must complete identity verification — Aadhaar-based Zero-Knowledge proof and live face-match biometric enrollment — before their profile becomes visible. This ensures each account belongs to a real, verified adult.
  • Age validation at onboarding: New users must confirm their date of birth and pass an age-28+ gate during onboarding. Accounts found to belong to minors are immediately terminated and all associated data is deleted.
  • Demo bypass: The only exception to verification is for internal demo/test accounts flagged as is_demo, which are isolated from real members and cannot interact with verified users.

Prohibited Content and Behavior

VERA strictly prohibits:

  • Any content depicting or promoting child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • Grooming, solicitation, or exploitation of minors in any form
  • Profiles misrepresenting age to circumvent age restrictions
  • Sharing of explicit content involving minors
  • Any communication intended to facilitate harm to children

Violations result in immediate account termination, permanent ban, and reporting to the appropriate authorities.

Detection and Prevention

  • Identity-based access: Because every member is verified against government-issued ID with face-match, anonymous or fake accounts are effectively prevented — making it extremely difficult for bad actors to operate.
  • AI scam detection: VERA's chat system includes AI-powered detection of suspicious, predatory, or fraudulent behavior patterns.
  • In-app reporting: Any member can report suspicious profiles or conversations directly within the app. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and prioritized for action.
  • Block and report tools: Members can immediately block and report any user exhibiting concerning behavior.
  • Photo verification: Profile photos are cross-checked against the enrolled face biometric to prevent impersonation.

Reporting Child Safety Concerns

If you encounter any content or behavior on VERA that raises child safety concerns, report it immediately:

  • In-app: Use the Report button on any profile or conversation — select the reason and provide details.
  • Email: Contact our designated child safety officer at amit.raina@gmail.com with the subject line "Child Safety Concern."

All child safety reports are treated with the highest priority and investigated within 24 hours.

Reporting to Authorities

VERA complies with all relevant child safety laws, including mandatory reporting obligations. When we identify credible evidence of child sexual abuse or exploitation, we:

  • Immediately terminate the offending account and preserve evidence
  • Report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline where applicable
  • Report to relevant regional and national law enforcement authorities, including Indian authorities under the POCSO Act and Information Technology Act where applicable
  • Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations
